Installation
On receipt, record the SKU, serial number, voltage, fuel and controller revision, and photograph the nameplate. Check the heater, harness, controller, pump, pipes, seals and fasteners actually supplied. Prepare maintenance access, protected routing, a suitable electrical supply and combustion exhaust outside the occupied space.
Check the permitted portable location, exhaust route and air supply. A portable enclosure does not authorise operation in an enclosed space.
Position and stabilise: Use a stable support and protect the unit from splashes. Provide a safe outdoor area for combustion and exhaust.
Install ducts: Secure warm-air ducts and inspect their outlets. Prevent exhaust from being drawn back in and prevent ducts disconnecting where they pass through an opening.
Check the tank: With the unit cold, inspect the cap and hoses for leaks. Use only the fuel specified on the nameplate.
Connect power: Connect the supplied cable and controller. Check voltage, polarity and protective devices before testing.
Test and store: Run a supervised test and complete shutdown. Wait for cooling before moving the unit. Inspect connections after every journey.
Commissioning checks
Check mounts, connections, protective devices and seals before starting. Bleed or prime only as instructed in the manual. Measure voltage at the appliance during startup; check stable operation, temperatures and unusual smoke or leaks. Test controlled shutdown and completion of cooling, recording conditions, measurements and serial number.
Operation
Temporary installation: Use a suitable stable support and protect against splashes. Confirm the proposed portable use is authorised. Keep combustion and exhaust outdoors, routed to prevent recirculation through the warm-air duct.
Refuel and start: With the unit cold and stopped, use the fuel specified on its nameplate. Check the cap, lines, cables and supply before starting. Never move an operating or still-hot unit.
Shelter heating: Portable heaters still require ventilation. Secure ducts against disconnection. Do not route improvised exhaust pipes through an occupied space.
Store: Allow complete cooling, store dry and secure the tank for transport. Inspect connections after moving. HER301 combustion settings and its specific exploded view remain to be confirmed.
Maintenance
Before use, check power, fuel, ducts and leaks. After moving, inspect mounts and fittings. Before the season, perform a supervised test and inspect the circuit. Allow the shutdown cycle and cooling to finish before maintenance. Follow the variant’s manual for dismantling and intervals.
Before the season, inspect mounts, wiring, pipes, outlets and protective devices; check leaks and corrosion. Clean grilles and remove obstructions without changing combustion settings. Before storage, follow water-system drainage and antifreeze procedures. After service, inspect seals and leaks, test operation and shutdown. Exact intervals depend on the variant’s manual and use.
Troubleshooting & support
Record the exact error code, a screen photograph, voltage at rest and startup, symptoms and circumstances. Check supply/connectors, fuel, intake and exhaust; on coolant systems, also check filling, bleeding and circulation. Use the installed controller’s code table; do not interchange OLED, LCD and AT1192 codes. Stop for leaks, odours or overheating and obtain professional diagnosis before replacing electronics.
