Installation
On receipt, record the SKU, serial number, voltage, fuel and controller revision, and photograph the nameplate. Check the heater, harness, controller, pump, pipes, seals and fasteners actually supplied. Prepare maintenance access, protected routing, a suitable electrical supply and combustion exhaust outside the occupied space.
Identify water supply, safety valve and drainage. Fill and bleed as instructed before heating; check freeze protection and the variant’s mains supply.
Prepare the opening: Compare the supplied template with the base and under-vehicle clearances. Check that the support is rigid and no pipes cross the cutting area.
Fit the protection plate: Clean and dry contact surfaces. Apply compatible sealant to the inside face of the plate. Position, press and secure it according to the kit instructions; protect cut edges.
Install the assembly: Position the water heater and burner without straining connections. Keep the safety valve and drain accessible. Keep combustion exhaust outside the occupied space.
Connect water: Connect cold inlet, hot outlet and safety discharge, supporting all pipes. The safety-valve discharge must remain unobstructed, slope downwards outdoors and be protected against freezing.
Fill and test: Fill with a hot-water tap open and inspect every joint. Connect DC and any mains supply according to the nameplate. Test the available modes and complete drainage before handover.
Commissioning checks
Check mounts, connections, protective devices and seals before starting. Bleed or prime only as instructed in the manual. Measure voltage at the appliance during startup; check stable operation, temperatures and unusual smoke or leaks. Test controlled shutdown and completion of cooling, recording conditions, measurements and serial number.
Operation
Fill: Confirm the domestic-water tank is the 18 L version. Close the drain and fill from the cold-water system with a hot-water tap open until air is expelled. Check seals, the safety valve and its discharge pipe.
Heat: Use a mode compatible with the available energy sources. Before electric heating, verify voltage and power on the element nameplate; the L1800 model name alone does not establish voltage. Beware of scalding at the hot-water outlet.
Hygiene and maintenance: Use cleaning products and procedures compatible with tank materials. Only use a descaling procedure approved for the selected tank materials. Have the safety valve, supply, fittings and electrical connections checked.
Drain completely: Stop, allow cooling and open drains and taps to admit air. Verify the tank and low points actually empty. Never let the element heat dry on the next startup.
Maintenance
Before use, check power, fuel, ducts and leaks. After moving, inspect mounts and fittings. Before the season, perform a supervised test and inspect the circuit. Allow the shutdown cycle and cooling to finish before maintenance. Follow the variant’s manual for dismantling and intervals.
Before the season, inspect mounts, wiring, pipes, outlets and protective devices; check leaks and corrosion. Clean grilles and remove obstructions without changing combustion settings. Before storage, follow water-system drainage and antifreeze procedures. After service, inspect seals and leaks, test operation and shutdown. Exact intervals depend on the variant’s manual and use.
Troubleshooting & support
Record the exact error code, a screen photograph, voltage at rest and startup, symptoms and circumstances. Check supply/connectors, fuel, intake and exhaust; on coolant systems, also check filling, bleeding and circulation. Use the installed controller’s code table; do not interchange OLED, LCD and AT1192 codes. Stop for leaks, odours or overheating and obtain professional diagnosis before replacing electronics.
Before you buy
- Required use and output
- Voltage and fuel
- Available installation space
- Combustion intake and exhaust
- Compatible controller and required installation components
- Exact packing list
Select for actual use, heat losses, climate and installation architecture. Nominal output alone does not establish compatibility or autonomy.
Do not confuse domestic-water tank capacity with engine-coolant circuit volume. Use the capacity documented for the selected variant.
